Official Public Statements from Meghan Markle and Royal Representatives
It has been revealed that Meghan Markle wished to bring the allegations of child sexual abuse against her father to light, but was told to remain silent by the Royal Protection officers from Scotland Yard.
This controversy erupted after Scotland Yard admitted that, in January 2019, they handed the 45-year-old Duchess of Sussex a letter containing grave allegations against her 82-year-old father, Thomas Markle yet they failed to notify any other relevant authority.

In the seven-page letter, Roslyn Loveless Markle’s first wife, who passed away in 2024 accused her ex-husband of the sexual abuse of children. The letter stated that the former Hollywood lighting technician frequently traveled to the Philippines and Thailand, claiming that in those places, “12-year-olds are legal.”
This handwritten letter from Roslyn was first reviewed by the Metropolitan Police’s Royal Protection unit and subsequently forwarded to the office of the Duke and Duchess at Kensington Palace “for their awareness.”
It has now emerged that Meghan wanted to speak out about the matter. Just last week, she described these allegations as “disturbing and painful.”
However, one of her officers from the Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP) unit dissuaded her, reportedly saying: “Leave it to us; we will look into it, we will investigate.” The same officer advised Meghan not to speak out at a time when the media was already criticizing her for severing ties with her father without providing a reason even though he had not attended her 2018 wedding.
According to The Times, the Met is still searching for this officer. The Met did not investigate the allegations because the alleged offenses took place abroad.
Surprisingly, while Harry and Meghan’s security detail were aware of these serious allegations, their closest advisors at Kensington Palace were kept in the dark.
This included Samantha Cohen a former aide to Queen Elizabeth who was serving as the Sussexes’ private secretary at the time as well as Jason Knauf, who acted as a joint communications secretary for both Harry and Meghan, and William and Kate.
A source remarked, “Harry and Meghan are very private and do not share things with others.”
Meanwhile, close aides to the King who was the Prince of Wales at the time were also not informed.
On Saturday, a source within the Met stated that the RaSP (Royal and Specialist Protection) officers who saw the 2019 letter failed to grasp the gravity of the situation and did not escalate it to higher authorities.
The source added: “These individuals are not intelligence officers; their thinking is very linear. RaSP was concerned solely with how this might impact the security of the Duke and Duchess. After assessing that, they should have also considered the broader implications.”
Questions are now being raised as to why the Met did not notify international agencies, including the FBI. The force has referred itself to the police watchdog for failing to “pass on allegations of serious crimes… to the relevant external authorities at the time.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday, police recovered child pornography from a storage unit abandoned by Thomas Markle a discovery first reported by the Daily Mail.
Shortly after midnight, investigators specializing in sex crimes, accompanied by forensic experts, descended upon the storage unit located near Markle’s former home in Mexico. Upon viewing the contents, one agent exclaimed, “Ay cabrón” meaning “Oh my God” and turned away.
The seized items included magazines depicting the sexual abuse of children, as well as nude photographs of young Asian girls.
Our reporters discovered this cache last Thursday in Rosarito, where the Duchess’s estranged father had lived for a decade. Receipts confirmed that he had rented the 5-by-10-foot space in 2017.
According to the search warrant, a judge had authorized investigators to search for “evidence containing child sexual abuse material” and signs of the “alleged commission of the serious crime of human trafficking.” A computer, thumb drives, VHS tapes, and magazines were seized, and the unit was sealed with an official notice.
The raid on the gated storage facility, known as “Baja Storage,” was carried out after the Daily Mail alerted authorities that Unit 22 contained images of child abuse. Just hours earlier, the Mail had observed Markle being pushed in a wheelchair from one care home to another in Lakeland, Florida.
Markle who has had one leg amputated and has been diagnosed with cognitive impairment was accompanied by his daughter, Samantha, and her boyfriend, Mark Phillips.
Our reporters learned of the storage unit last week. The 82-year-old had stopped paying rent two years ago and moved to the Philippines early last year without clearing out the storage space.
Staff at the Baja storage facility were unaware of the contents and were deeply disturbed upon their discovery.
In addition to innocent family mementos, the unit contained strips of 35mm film negatives featuring secret photographs of children at the beach and dusty VHS tapes labeled with titles such as “Boys – Brother and Sister – Russian XX” and “Manila Nites.” The storage unit also held old computers and a paper plate on which “DARK WEB” was written in red ink, followed by a list of several URLs.
FBI agents based in Tampa near the senior living facility where Markle has been staying since his left leg was amputated in December are among those working on the case. FBI officials from Southern California are also involved.
According to a warrant obtained by the Daily Mail, state prosecutors in Mexico secured a search warrant from Judge Estefani Moreno Gutiérrez of the Baja California judicial branch during a closed-court session on Friday…They asked for access. Around 4:00 PM on Friday, a small team of uniformed officers arrived at the depot and requested to speak with the owner.
As evening fell, additional officers from Mexico’s State Investigation Agency arrived, while soldiers from the Mexican National Guard were deployed outside. They presented a warrant to the night watchman, and at 12:48 AM, more than a dozen agents entered the premises. By 3:00 AM, the raid had concluded, and a convoy of vehicles departed the scene.
The discovery of this storage unit marks another major turning point in the case; if charges are filed and a conviction is secured, it could result in a prison sentence of ten to twelve years.
The former lighting director had relocated to Rosarito in 2011.
Markle moved back to the Philippines in early 2025, where he is currently under investigation following a report filed by his own son.
According to The Sun newspaper, 60-year-old Thomas Markle Jr. allegedly discovered “hundreds, if not thousands” of sexually explicit images of children inside boxes that his father had shipped to the Far East.
Markle has previously dismissed these allegations as “lies from a sick mind.” On Saturday, Samantha Markle’s boyfriend told us: “You’ll get only one statement: Thomas Markle’s fingerprints aren’t even on the items in the Philippines. He never touched them at any point—he cannot be charged. Markle never even had these items in his possession in Mexico… The FBI has no jurisdiction in Mexico. It’s all nonsense.” Thomas Markle Sr. told the Daily Mail: “I never even had a storage unit in Rosarito!”
In a statement last week, Meghan said: “I am deeply troubled by the news that has emerged over the last 24 hours, and my heart goes out to all the children who have been harmed.
In 2018, a letter was sent to the Metropolitan Police and the Royalty and Specialist Protection unit. I was later shown that letter; it contained disturbing and distressing allegations against my father, and I was assured that they were being investigated.
I hope it is now understood that despite years of media distortion my estrangement from my father, and my decision not to let my children see him, was for one reason only: their safety.
I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families.
While what has now come to light reveals a depravity even worse than imagined, it is my sincere hope that justice will be served, and that the safety and well-being of innocent children will remain the top priority.”
