Nicki Minaj Calls Kathy Hochul “Wicked Woman” and Backs Bruce Blakeman

Nicki Minaj has taken aim at Kathy Hochul, labeling the New York Governor a “wicked woman” and urging voters to choose Republican Bruce Blakeman over her in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
In a series of posts on X on Wednesday, Minaj accused Hochul of failing to speak out against the harm inflicted upon innocent people as described by the rapper and called on Black voters and the Christian community to turn against the Governor.
“Kathy Hochul is a wicked woman. The Democratic Party should withdraw her candidacy, because even if she wins, it will have dire consequences for the party. Her downfall has begun. She will not escape the wrath of God. When she had the chance, she failed to condemn evil,” Minaj wrote.
The “Super Bass” singer also responded in all-caps to a video she reposted, which featured Hochul’s controversial 2024 remark: “There are Black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ means.” Hochul had apologized for the comment at the time, stating, “I misspoke, and I regret it.”
“How much more do you need to see and hear from her?!! As a Black person, how can you vote for this vile, malicious, cursed woman? And as a Christian how?! She remains silent while the innocent suffer, and this is the opinion she holds of your children! Vote for Blakeman!” she posted. Minaj also reshared another video of Hochul, in which the latter while promoting her inflation-relief initiative before a large Black congregation at the True Bethel Baptist Church in 2025 made a joke regarding liquor stores.
“Don’t stop at the liquor store, okay? Buy something for the kids. Buy them some food. Sometimes I have to stop at the liquor store too. I get it,” Hochul had said.
“So, not only does she keep such terrible company, laughing at the wicked antics her friends pull behind the scenes against those who lack political power… Oh God, help us,” Minaj wrote in response.
At the time, the church’s bishop defended Hochul’s remarks, stating that they were made “in the context” of his sermon that day.
During a recent campaign stop, Hochul responded to Minaj’s criticism.
When asked about Minaj’s comments, the Governor suggested that the rapper’s appearances alongside Trump had influenced her views.
“I don’t play games when it comes to this work. This is a serious matter,” the Governor said. “You could ask her how in what way she has been influenced by the poison of Donald Trump,” Hochul added. “When Donald Trump and the MAGA world fade away retreating back into the dark holes from which they emerged hopefully, we will witness a new awakening. Perhaps people like her, and others, will come to realize that the vision of this country they were presented with does not align with the true sentiments of the American people. Consequently, choosing a divergent path now is entirely their own prerogative.”
When asked whether she would welcome an endorsement from Cardi B, Governor Hochul dismissed the notion, rejecting the idea that this exchange amounted to a feud between celebrities.
Some social media users praised Hochul’s response, arguing that voters should focus on a candidate’s track record rather than the opinions of celebrities.
“Exactly that is precisely how one should respond,” one user wrote.
“Brilliant response! This isn’t the time for games. Forget what these celebrities have to say; vote for your own rights and the rights of your loved ones,” another commented.
A third added, “A sensible answer. Voters ought to pay attention to the actions of an elected official, not the views of some ‘celebrity’.”
Other social media users appeared to side with Minaj.
“She doesn’t play games except when it comes to the dangerous games she plays with our lives by protecting criminal illegal immigrants. This woman has destroyed New York State. Vote for @NassauExec and save New York!” one user commented.
“She doesn’t play games unless it involves our lives. Nicki was 100% right: @KathyHochul is a vile, wicked, wretched woman,” another wrote. “You just told a large portion of your own voters that they should go back into the ‘dark hole’… so which party is actually creating division?” another added.
Fox News Digital reached out to Minaj and Hochul for comment.
This exchange comes at a time when Minaj has openly supported Trump and has appeared alongside him at campaign events for Republican candidates.
On Sunday, October 25, at a Republican campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, Trump invited Minaj onto the stage while he was campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers and gubernatorial candidate John James.
The rapper used the occasion to reaffirm her support for Trump, stating that if he were to run for office again, she would support him once more.
“President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time,” Minaj said. “And I will always, always continue to support you. If you run again, I will support you again.”
Trump, who is currently serving his second term, is barred from being elected president a third time under the 22nd Amendment.
